Greetings,

These calls would happen on Tuesday, 22nd June at 7:00pm UTC for
French-language session and Wednesday, 23rd June at 7:00pm UTC for
English-language session.
The movement charter is one of the various outcomes of the Wikimedia 2030
Strategy, and it is envisioned as a document which would define the roles
and responsibilities for all the members and entities of the Wikimedia
Movement, including the laying out of a new Global Council
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Global_Council> [2] for
movement governance.
The Movement Charter is a movement Strategy priority and a broad
ratification process is expected for its adoption. Hoping to see you all at
the meetings!
Kindly,
Sam.

If you are considering running for the WMF board, you can have a one-on-one
mentorship session with someone who has served in this position:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2021/Peer_su…
The idea is especially to encourage those from underrepresented regions and
communities to participate, who might have questions they'd like answered
personally and peer support, before they might consider joining
the election officially .
Thanks,
Richard

Dear Community Members,
We have seen all the efforts going on in various social media platforms as
the community tries to mobilize and fine-tune ideas for their session
proposals for Wikimania 2021
<https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/2021:Submissions> and we are happy to
announce a 2-Day extension to give you some extra hours to conclude your
plans.
The office hours we had last week also opened room for the Wikimania Core
Organizing Team to engage with the community and clarify some programming
questions you had and we thought it would be fair to give room for the
participants to conclude their proposals.
Please be informed that we have extended the deadline to the end of day Sunday
20th, June (24:00hrs Pacfific Standard Time)!
Also, some amazing news: If you are submitting a pre-recorded session in
another language other than english, you are no longer required to submit a
transcription in english.
