Dear Wikimedians,
Wiki Indaba 2021 is happening in 10 days, from 5th to 7th of Septmber 2021
and we do have 10 booths available for Affiliates, Movement Groups, General
Wiki Projects and Conference Partners to exhibit at the virtual Wiki Indaba
2021 conference.
You can use the booth to get attendee traffic around the work that you are
doing and generate more traction and support for your work and local
communities! There are only limited spaces available and booths will be
assigned on a first come first serve basis.
The conference platform we are using is Airmeet
<https://www.airmeet.com/hub/product-blog/step-by-step-guide-use-airmeet-for…>,
and it will give you access to the following features as an exhibitor.
- Add a logo and banner image
- A video link
- Resources/Slides: You can add up to five items
- Social media links to connect with attendees
- Booth tables to meet directly with attendees.
Sign up here by 31st October

Hello all,
I would like to inform you that I have published a report related to
Wikimedia Regional Hubs
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Hubs/Implementation/Regional_Hubs_Draft_Plan>
from
the perspective of the Arabic speaking community. The report is ready, and
complies background of the region, as well as different opinions and
analysis of the community views on hubs, before providing recommendations
on the way forward. It was funded by a rapid grant from the Wikimedia
strategy & governance team.
I believe that this report can be useful for all of you interested in the
implementation of Wikimedia hubs, and in the Wikimedia strategy in general.
I am also encouraging those who can to create similar reports for their
regions, so that experiences and insights are shared.
If anyone has a question, please feel free to contact me (through email or
on Meta <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Anass_Sedrati>), and I will
be happy to discuss this further.
Have a good evening/day everyone!
Best regards,

Hello everyone,
This is just a reminder that the Universal Code of Conduct Draft
Enforcement Guidelines are still open for review and comment.[1] The
Drafting Committee will start working on revisions and improvement* in less
than two weeks (October 17)*, so it is important that you give them your
ideas and opinions soon!
There is now a short, simple version of the Draft Guidelines here to make
your review easier.[2] If possible, also help translate the short version
into more languages!
We will also hold one last conversation hour on October 15, 2021 03:00 and
14:00 UTC.[3]
On behalf of the Drafting Committee, much thanks to everyone who has given
ideas so far. We hope to hear from more of you - the Guidelines will be
much stronger if more opinions are included.
Kindly,
Sam.
