Some general conference-going tips, borrowed from other conferences:
* Label your laptop charger just as you would your luggage -- use a luggage tag, or stick some adhesive tape on and write your name on that.
* 5-2-1 rule: each day of the event, get at least 5 hours of sleep, 2 real meals, and 1 shower.
* Each day, spend 30 minutes outside the venue, doing something that has nothing to do with the conference.
* If you are overwhelmed or tired, it is OKAY to go back to your room and nap. You can't catch everything. Don't wear yourself out.

* If you're staying in a hotel where your room gets cleaned every day by the hotel staff, it's polite to leave a tip (gratuity) each night. I budget 1 dollar per person per night, and leave it on the bedside table with a note simply saying "thank you, housekeeping!" to make it clear that it's for them.
* Thank the volunteers when you have a chance. They make this work.
+1. All good advice.
