For a long time the video links on https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania_2005_Presentations have been broken, pointing to some abandoned server in Amsterdam. It looks like the videos were never uploaded to Commons, perhaps due to file size limits or other limitations in place at the time.
I just noticed that the Wayback Machine has copies of most of them: http://web.archive.org/web/20070720024828/http://www.knams.wikimedia.org/wik...
Any takers for getting these up on Commons? I noticed that unfortunately files >100MB seem cut off including the higher quality copies, so unless there's other copies of these around, it'll be hard to recover them. (This may be a limit on archive.org's crawler, or it may be a limit on how much content they serve. I suspect it's the former, but will ping them as well.)

File a shell bug and reedy can probably do them in bulk.
Talking on videos of Wikimania events, any news on the videos of 2008 Gdansk[?]

That would be 2010. I've hassled Marcin (Saper) in regular intervals about those. The last update of any meaningful detail I got from him was this:
<begin quote> I have now 32 GB of material in .ogg, unfortunately the concert (we have both .ogg and MPEG4-AVC version of this) cannot go to Commons because of licensing (we have the license but it cannot be CC-BY-SA because of permission from composers we got).
I am now setting up some torrents to allow people download everything fast as well. <end quote>
Nothing since then. I've offered to help with every step of the process as long as we are able to get our hands on the files somehow (including just sending us disks), but so far I've not heard anything back :(

In general it's the crawler, but in this case even 480 MB videos are there, except that my connection was closed after about 100 MB. Officially speaking, the reason is https://archive.org/about/faqs.php#28 ; practically speaking, they usually don't care http://blog.archive.org/2012/04/26/downloading-in-bulk-using-wget/
First step would probably be to get them moved to an archive.org collection rather than the Wayback machine. I didn't know about 2005 but I recently saved on archive.org the 2008 videos hosted on some precarious dreamhost domain. https://archive.org/search.php?query=subject%3A%22Wikimania+2008%22
