Because of airline schedules and prices, it would be convenient for me to fly into Buenos Aires on the 23rd of August and fly out on the 29th. However, the "Date(s) of stay" field on the registration form only allows me to check 24-28. It's unclear whether the checkbox for e.g. the 25th means the night between the 24th and the 25th, the night between the 25th and the 26th, or just the 25th (can anyone clarify this?), but either way I'm one or two nights short. Could the local team please advise as to how to arrange for additional nights at the Bauen hotel?

I thought it was an international custom to start the hotel stay at 2 pm and end it the next day at 10 am. So the 24th means from the 24th at 14:00 until the 25th at 10:00.
To start your stay earlier, you will need to directly contact the hotel ( http://www.bauenhotel.com.ar/contact.html ) or somebody else from the organization (I'm not in Buenos Aires right now).
Good luck, MarianoC.

Tomorrow I'll ask the hotel if we can manage extended reservatios. Up to now, is as Mariano says: you should contact directly with the hotel, but let's wait until tomorrow in case we can handle this in a more direct way. Besides, between the day before Wikimanía and the day after, we have this promotional price of USD 25 per day and we can't guarantee this will stand for other days.

Thanks a lot. Since I'm probably not the only one who wants this, handling this through the Wikimania team makes sense to me, or the hotel will get e-mails from dozens of people all asking the same thing.

I completely understand. Still, for the amount of money I'd save on air fares, I could nearly book a room at the Hilton :)

Of course you're not! I'm interested in how it goes :)

Any updates on whether we need to contact the hotel directly for extra days? I think several of us will likely need to stay the night of the 23rd, and it would be very convenient to be in the same place!

Sorry for the delay: for extra days you should contact Omar Vanag at the Bauen Hotel using this email: ventas@bauenhotel.com.ar . The price will be a bit more expensive (arround USD 30).

I was about to contact the hotel to extend my stay when I realized that I wasn't sure what my four already paid nights really were. When I registered I checked all 5 boxes (24, 25, 26, 27 and 28) but was billed $100, which suggests only 4 nights. Which 4? Now that we have our plane tickets, and I know we will be arriving on the 24th, I am especially concerned about our first night.

Ray, thank you for asking. We've realized that for some days we had a bug in the registration form, and the 28th was not charged. Anyone who had this problem, don't worry: the hotel is booked, and to make things easier, we'll bill the USD 25 for this night when you are in Argentina.
