We did. They came up to different results each of the three times we did it :)
Seriously, everyone -- I promise I will send a formal announcement when there is one to send. The jury wanted to confirm some information about the bids and we are waiting on answers back about that, among other things.

I am sure the members of the jury are doing their hardest to come to a "verdict". I think the big reason why people are antsy is that things get more expensive the closer we come to W-Week. Also, other people may get the reservations the winning city needs to pull it off.

We all know that and accept it -- the thing is that they missed their deadline, that's the only reason people are wondering if they came to a conclusion yet.

Not really. The dates aren't usually finalized when the location is announced (take Wikimania 2009 for example), and I doubt a few days will make a big difference for a flight a year from now. :-)

They've missed their deadline twice and we haven't been given a third deadline (although I don't blame them for wanting to avoid pinning themselves down if they aren't sure they can manage it!). We have no idea when we can expect a result, which is what prompts threads like this.

I agree, as long as they don't take too much longer it shouldn't cause any problems with the conference itself. If it is closer to a few weeks rather than a few days, then it starts to be an issue, but I'm optimistic the jury will get there soon!
