Thanks for the clarification. :-) Please could you comment on the privacy issues here? It’s not obvious who has access to the information collected by accessing the tinyletter page (there’s no privacy link on it, and it’s not obvious that you’ll be taken to a non-Wikimedia page by clicking on the subscription link on the registration page), nor that collected by completing the form.

I guess the opposite was the intent. Rather they wanted at a list where they could send notices that would be moderated/curated and slightly easier to join/leave. (maybe also lower volume vs. this list) Not a place for internal discussions or to avoid clogging *this* list.
