Hi,
I didn't realize that I would get constant discussion threads.
If this is not the correct way to remove my name, please let me know.
Thank you,

A few notes on sharing the wikimania love, before and during the
conference :
* Attached is a draft pamphlet for spreading the word about Wikimania,
care of Reid Offringa. On a less sacrilegious note, there is also a
lovely hacking-days poster image about (Brett, what's the latest version
like?) which would make a good printout to bring to other related events.
* There are three entries so far in the t-shirt competition; and while
they are pretty darn good, more are wanted! And other image suggestions,
including icons/buttons of various sizes, are welcome.
* A Wikimania party Saturday night is being planned for the MIT Museum,
which is a proper tardis of a building. You can prepare by practicing
your DDR skills...
http://web.mit.edu/museum/collections/index.html
* Friday there will be, among other things, a party hosted by wikitravel;
who is encouraged to put more details up on the wiki, where that and other
events are noted:

( SJ )
Lately I found some 'Mania 2005 related things on meta are ranked very
high in some circumstances - by a certain language searching in
particular.
For example:
http://www.google.fr/search?hs=ayr&hl=fr&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3…
I was adviced to remove those 2005 related stuffs. Move or soft
redirects are also possible solutions, but personally I hesitate to
blank them. If we turn them into redirect, it would be a question
where they should go.
Any solution idea?

Dear all, three things:
* The Wikimania program and hacking days schedule are nearing completion.
If you are talking or presenting a poster, please fill out the appropriate
proceedings pages.
http://wikimania2006.wikimedia.org/wiki/Proceedings:Index
There are currently no proceedings pages for hacking days sessions; if you
feel strongly about your hacking days talk, and would like a proceedings
entry, please get in touch with Phoebe or Nick (ngb) about this.
* Early registration was extended throughout this week; please encourage
your friends, enemies, and Calvinball dreamteammates to register by
tomorrow to take advantage of this.
http://wm06reg.wikimedia.org/
* Attendees should update their information on the attendees page, make
themselves an account on the wiki, and add themselves to the facebook.
Please note there are a half-dozen swaths of floor and couch available
for crash space for those coming and staying before or after the event,
or hoping to avoid the dorms.

I expect around 500 for the days of the main conference; we don't have
nearly that many registrants yet. There are many people planning to
attend who haven't completed registration; and ~150 scholarship
applications.

SJ,
Just out of curiosity, how many people have registered and how many
people do you expect will attend Wikimania this year? I imagine
others are also interested in this information, thus why I am sending
it to the list.
Thank you,
Chuck
Dear Wikimaniacs,
The conference site is being updated with new schedule and proceedings
details. Those of you with Indico access, please help update the
proceedings list
(http://wikimania2006.wikimedia.org/wiki/Proceedings:Index)
with content from speaker submissions.
Expect changes as we shift things around; and feel free to start
commenting on presentations -- start the discussion early!
== Website information ==
The rest of the website needs more content! There are links about Boston
dand Cambridge and MIT and Harvard to add; notes on travelling, even
notes of where there is a gap in information.
== Scholarships ==
As you may have noticed, travel scholarships are available, and today is
the last day to submit applications for them. People (community members
and other) from all communities, and even really good candidates from
outside the communities, are welcome to apply.
== Registration ==
Site notices encouraging people to register by the early registration
deadline (July 9th) are also up. We really need people to register as
soon as possible -- tell your friends, tell your enemies, send mail to
your favorite lists, help us get the word out.
More to come,
SJ
I'm sorry to say this, as one who could have found it before ...
but sitenotice and document on the website are inconsistent: (in the
former, till June 28, the latter, 26).
We need to determine which date we will use?

Here's the logo in SVG format.
