Hi.
Are there Europlug/Schuko to BS1363 adapters available in Hong Kong? I
couldn't find any in my country. Where can I buy one for myself?

I'm also proposing a "Tech shopping" meetup on Wednesday, on Development

As has been customary for the last few years, there will be an India Meeting at Wikimania. More of an informal chat regarding the state of the movement and meeting people. Thanks to Tinu for initiating this. The date/time/venue is still TBD, but do sign up if your interested :)
Wiki page: http://wikimania2013.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_India_meeting
Heja Wikimaniacs,
if you were wondering what Bence was talking about in yesterday’s mail when
mentioning something called “Chapters Village” THIS is the email you should
not miss to read.
Yes, yes, this year there will be a dedicated area for chapters (and other
Wikimedia organisations) to present their work, exchange knowledge, talk,
inform, socialise and have fun:
http://wikimania2013.wikimedia.org/wiki/Chapters_Village. You can find us
in the Logo Square.
The Chapters Village will be “open” from Friday till Sunday, during regular
conference hours. It is not designed to provide a counter programme to the
official conference, this is why we have scheduled meet-ups and speed
geeking during the coffee, tea and lunch breaks. The programme appears in
the official programme brochure; on top of that, we have printed a nice
leaflet to spread on-site.
Here's the PDF file:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Chapters-village_web_120dpi.pdf
You can find the detailed (and always up-to-date) programme here:
http://wikimania2013.wikimedia.org/wiki/Chapters_Village#Programme:_Join_in…
At the moment, we have 13 chapters and organisations planning to be part of
the Chapters Village already. But you can still join in! Just add your
plans and ideas to the wiki page.
You are all invited to swing by and say hi, to catch up on the chapters’
projects, plans and programmes, to ask all the questions you always wanted
to ask chapters and talk to us about your idea of our common mission.
Feel free to get in touch should you have any questions or ideas to share.
Looking forward to seeing you in Hong Kong.
Cheers,
Nicole

Hi all,
As Wikimania is approaching fast, I wanted to let you know that the
Affiliations Committee (
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Affiliations_Committee) will be present
during the conference to discuss all your questions about current and
future user groups, chapters, thematic organisations and movement partners.
Also, if you've never heard of us, or indeed if you have heard about us so
much that you would like to beceom one of us, please don't be shy to come
by for a chat!
You will be able to find us during the main conference days at the AffCom
Café table in the Chapters Village (
http://wikimania2013.wikimedia.org/wiki/Chapters_Village#Affiliations_Commi…),
but we will be also roaming the conference venue and surroundings between
6-12 August as we are coming a few days early to have our annual meeting
and to meet as many people as possbile, so come find us and talk to us.
If you manage to meet each of us during the conference, you get to display
the limited edition AffCom user box (
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Affiliations_Committee/AffCom_treasure_hunt_…),
which should be worth at least 50 XP in the game of life. :)
To set up a specific time to meet, please e-mail affcom(a)lists.wikimedia.org,
or individual committee members (
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Affiliations_Committee/Members) and we will
be happy to find a quiet corner, some tea and biscuits to talk with you!
See you all in Hong Kong,
Best regards,
Bence

Many ATMs now support UnionPay (the domestic PRC system) and many shops accept UnionPay as well, so there shouldn't be much of an issue to use those cards. Indeed, in a country with foreign exchange control in terms of carrying notes, UnionPay card is a substitute of bringing tons of money for many Chinese travellers.
Best regards,
Alan

I definitely want to get a local SIM card, will there be enough English labeling for me to figure out which one I need at a 7-11? Thanks!

Definitely worth buying a local SIM for phone service, mainly because it's
so cheap in HK. As long as you have an unlocked GSM phone.
You can pick up mobile SIM cards from 7-11 or mobile stores, for as low as
HK $38 (US $5).
