Dear all,
It is great to be with you guys for all the five days during Wikimania, I
have learnt a lot and enjoyed this great event.
I may not have managed to know all of you, but our enthusiasm of Wikimedia,
and our spirit of providing free knowledge for all is infecting. Although
the local outreach might not be as successful as one might hope, all the
volunteers would have learnt a great deal about Wikimedia for the past few
days.
I must thank here the meticulous planning of Jerry, the caring love of
Deryck, the industrious effort of Kris, and the careful arrangements of
Yuuji, among others, who made this event such a success.
And, may be, see you again in London next year!
With the best regards,
--

Hello Wikimaniacs!
I gather that there are 13 people staying at the dorms who are flying out
of Hong Kong on flights which depart between 10:30am and 11:30am today,
including 11 of you flying to Moscow at 10:55.
4 taxis have been booked for you. You'll be taken directly from the dorms
to the airport. Please meet at the canteen at 07:45 with all your luggage
to check out and board the taxis. The taxi fare should be about HK$250 per
taxi and under HK$100 per person. Cheaper than the airport railway! :) :)
Lots of wiki-love,
Deryck
Hello!
I have to leave really early for my plane tomorrow, around 06:00-07:00AM.
I suppose that there will be no volunteers outside at that time, where
can I leave my entry and wi-fi access card?
Mārtiņš
Hi Wikimaniacs.
I have to leave the dorm quite early (6 am). How do I checkout?
See You at the beach,

Dear all,
Welcome to Hong Kong.As I am new to Wikimedia and the system, probably I
post this message late.Sorry.
Any wikimedian who is still staying in Hong kong want a walk or sea food
at Lamma Island with good price and quality?
Do let me know your time and date available.
Eugenien from Hong Kong
I’ve just posted it to FB as well....
It was a wonderful Wikimania.
Dear Wikimedians: Thanks for your support. Thanks for your great welcome and the overwhelming great feedback.
PLEASE don't forget your sister projects, look behind borders and bridge borders. Thanks to be a part of this wonderful family.
Stefan aka DerFussi from Wikivoyage
Dear Raul,
There are shops that accept the Octopus card at the airport, and if you're travelling to the airport in early morning, you can also get a refund from the MTR Customer Service Counter in the morning as the first train leaves the airport around 0600 so the counters will be opened by then.
Best regards,
Alan Lai

Does anybody want one? I could leave it at my hotel's reception (Ramada
Kowloon, two blocks from the University). There's no point to throw it
away, but I will leave tomorrow by transfer so early there won't even be a
chance to get the deposit back. Really, if someone walk to enjoy the cool
metro for some more days, it could be useful.
Raul
CCTV has given the local team unreasonable demands for thr beach party
tonight. Since they have a history of disobeying organizers' instructions
this week, please beware if they attempt to do the following at the beach
party...
1. Take pictures of people with "no photos" badges
2. Insist people follow their photo-taking instructions. They requested
that people line up in a W formation to celebrate Jimbo's birthday. Please
be alert that if this happens, it is not an instruction from the organisers
and may be ignored.
Kris, our party manager who's been pestered by CCTV for over a month,
suggested that I send you all this email. This is a reminder that the beach
party is a Wikimania party; feel free to enjoy yourselves at the expense of
annoying journalists. They are joining our party, not we joining theirs :)
