Wikimedians in HK on Aug 13?

Hi, I will be in Hong Kong on Tuesday, August 13th. I haven't made any definite plans yet, so if some Wikimedians are planning to meet up on lunch or dinner (or tea) I'm one interested Wikimedian. Regards,

Hi Jeremy, Deryck and All, Just got back to South Africa, and before real life kicks in, I wanted to thank all involved in Wikimania - the local organizers, the awesome volunteers, the speakers and the delegates, and the foundation. (and a special thank you to WM DE for my trip!) It was an incredible experience where friendship and community were heightened and reinforced. The African delegation, though small, is much stronger for it. Watch this space ;-)! And it is all due to being able to meet in a conducive and inspiring environment. Lounge / luggage room today!

In case people have forgotten, we have booked rooms N112-116 PolyU (where the VisualEditor team sat this week) as a lounge and (unattended) luggage room. Feel free to come hang out. Also, there are no shuttles from the dorms to anywhere today. Walking groups for catching the airport bus E22 will depart at 09:30, 10:30 and 11:30. There may also be impromptu taxi groups to travel from the dorms to PolyU. Please ask our volunteers for travel advice. Deryck

Returning Octopus cards

For those of you who doesn't know, you can return your octopus cards in the train information booth at the airport and get your 50$ deposit back. This however needs to be done before passport control as there is no similar booth inside. I didn't test this for myself though, as I was running short for my flight. If anyone knows otherwise he/she can update here. Sent from my Android based tablet. This on screen keyboard is challenging and may cause typos.

Does anyone have the phone numbers of Vinicius Siqueira or Mateus Nobre? One of them have left lots of his personal belongings in their dorm room past check out deadline. If he doesn't return to pick up their belongings by 2pm HKT, he may lose all his belongings. Please tell him to contact Cliff (cc'd) ASAP. Deryck

Hi all, I am one of those that will be staying in HK for another week. As my previous arrangements did not work out, I am looking for other accomodation options. I will be needing it between the 13th night and 19th morning. Should anyone be in a similar situation and ready to share a double room somewhere around or below 500HKD/night, let me know.
