>>> could you please spell out the details of weekly colaboration?
hi,
A weekly collaboration is a combined effort to improve a specific article on
wikipedia. Each week, ideally, an article is chosen and many contributors
would come forward and contribute to the article to make it more
encyclopedic.
We had started with one such weekly collaboration back in Jan, but somehow
it ended abruptly. I was looking at the possibilities of reviving the
activity back. :)
I've added a new bar to the main page thinking on the same lines. The bar
would feature the week's collaboration and an edit link to it. For this
week, I went on and selected ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸ೦ಗೀತ
(http://kn.wikipedia.org/wiki/ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ
ಸ೦ಗೀತ<http://kn.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%A0%C2%B2%C2%95%C3%A0%C2%B2%C2%B0%C3%A0%C2%…>)
by myself. If there's some activity with this one, we can even take opinions
from the people involved, on which article would be taken as weekly
collaboration in the coming weeks. This is a chance for everyone to get
their favourite topics expanded/added on kannada wikipedia. Looking forward
to some participation from all the members.
cheers,

hi folks,
I just realised that few users have had trouble figuring out
about templates and changing the content of the main page. I've
compiled a FAQ answering on how to do the same and a bit regarding how
one can become sys-op on Kannada wikipedia. Please go through it...
http://kn.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:HOWTO
As quoted there, one doesn't need sys-op previleges to edit the main
page items. If you have observed carefully, many templates put
together make up the main page. Each template is editable. I've put
the links on FAQ for your reference. The links also appear on the
bottom while you view the source of the main page.
Also, the wiki is vast. There are loads of things one would have to
explore on their own based on their own interests. Explore around
using links on http://kn.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Specialpages
and you'll know what I mean.
cheers,
