well, taking into account that you've been using baraha, you must be
using windows. There are different layouts for writing kannada on both
windows and linux. The one is inscript, the other one is
transliteration. By what you've said, it seems that you've been using
transliteration with baraha direct utility. There's one more such
transliteration scheme + nudi layout provided by M$ itslef, and is
available here: http://www.bhashaindia.com/Downloads/KannadaIME.zip
The default available layout is inscript layout, to enable which no
extra downloads are required (just keep your WinXp CD in hand when it
asks for installing the new files) The detailed directions are available
here:

I don't see a reason why we should have such a thing when you're able to
type directly in kannada. Are you trying to re-explore yourself and
your language with transliteration, and like to forget kannada lipi in
any way? ;)
Just to summarize it all, sorry to tell this, but ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ
PS: The implementation of such type in kannadakasturi.com has its own
reasons, such thing might not be useful or may not be implementable on
kn wikipedia.

For example, see the
website http://www.kannadakasturi.com/kasturiDictionary/start.asp (see
the link "click to edit KaEnglish")
But please
do consider it.

hey guys,
i saw that there are many articles in english wikipedia which pertain
to india in general and karnataka in particular. is translating these
articles into kannda on the cards? cause, IMHO, this should be a
relatively easier task than writing new articles in kannada. if so, i
might start working on translating one of the articles into kannda...
might need a little help though ;-)

Hi,
If one has to include english words and link them, how to go about
it?, so that i can do that while i'm writing in their kannada
definitions.
Regards,
Rohith.

I'm not sure about this, my dear friend. Few of my friends reported
the same problem with mozilla firefox, I'm still figuring out if its a
problem with browser... please try in other browsers and let me know.
I myself had this problem with the kannada version of mediawiki
newsletter once on netscape, but strangely enough, it was rectified on
a restart of the browser.
Please refer this: http://kn.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Kannada_Support
doc for the gory details.
I'm ccing this mail to the kannada wikipedia list. Lets checkout with
our other friends if they experienced the same.
meanwhile, I would appreciate a screenshot if possible from your side,
so that if its a browser bug, I can file the bug with the screenshot.
cheers,
- h.p.
