I'm pretty sure it's possible to dial-in by phone from an EU number too, I did so in some WMF-hosted meeting only few months ago. I forgot how to find the number, despite the instructions: https://support.google.com/meet/answer/9518557 https://support.google.com/meet/answer/9683440
I think I found it in a Calendar invitation back then, could someone maybe share it from there?
Thanks, Federico
I'm having trouble finding international phone numbers for this particular meeting. I'm not sure if we have international numbers for public meetings (I think the US number I shared is the one Google offered to me)—or maybe meetings I schedule don't qualify for them.
I have a request in with our IT folks, but today is a holiday, so I won't hear back before Monday. Unfortunately, we may not be able to support international calling, but I'll see what we can do by next Wednesday.

A small update: I still have an open ticket with IT about this, but my current hypothesis is that this calendar item is so old (it was originally a Google Hangout meeting, rather than Google Meet) that it doesn't have additional phone numbers to dial in. I will update to a new meeting and add phone information for the August office hours, but I don't want to change the video meeting information, since the meeting is only two days away and it is likely to cause confusion.

Hoi, I have a few questions for you that I send to you well in advance. In a previous exchange of emails I informed someone in your staff that search functionality that works well for over 50% of our public had regressed in functionality; it used to work it no longer does. The Special:MediaSearch used to enable me to find images in Commons in Dutch. It no longer does. In an exchange of emails that followed, I was told that after the integration of text it no longer worked. The software works as designed, fulfills its test cases and to use a technical term "shit happens". I worked in computing myself and this is a typical scenario where department level priorities impact company level priorities. To use another technical term, that is when "shit hits the fan".
I am now a candidate for the board of the Wikimedia Foundation. Support for our public is why I entered. I have the following questions.
- how does your department ensure that search functionality works equally well in all the languages Wikimedia supports - how do you ensure such functionality in multi language projects like Commons - how is the functionality for multi language testing embedded - what proposals do you have to improve search functionality that will help us share the sum of all knowledge that we have. - what effect will they have for the whole of our public
I have proposed a Wikimania session where everyone is invited to bring proposals that will particularly improve functionality for our public. When I am elected, I expect to learn the proposals from the Wikimedia organisation. Thanks, GerardM
