Dear all,
the International Federation of Film Archives are planning a symposium on "Sharing" on April 23-24 as part of their next annual conference (22-27 April 2018) in Prague. One of the organizers - Adelheid Heftberger, in CC - reached out to ask whether I knew anyone who would be able to deliver an talk on Wikidata there.
If that's you or you know someone who is active around film-related matters on Wikidata, then please get in touch with her.
Submission deadline for proposals for the symposium is December 8, according to http://nfa.cz/cz/industry/2018-fiaf/fiaf-2018/ .
Cheers, Daniel
Dear Daniel, Adelheid, all,
I'm very happy to see your message about Wikimedia and film archives, because the Cinémathèque Québécoise started to organize monthly events about animation films in Wikimedia projects since last September, with the help of Wikimedia Canada. We're starting with citizen involvment around common knowledge, but ultimately the goal is to link our internal database with Wikidata (first step done with https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P4276 ), open it, along with some public domain archives. You can see more an information there: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Cin%C3%A9math%C3%A8que_qu%C3%A9... (in french).
It's a very nice experience I would like to share, so that I'm indeed currently preparing a proposal for the symposium of the FIAF. I would be interested to know if some other Cinémathèque contribute with Wikimedia?
Best regards,

Hi Daniel,
I don't know anyone active in film-related matters on WD, yet I know several people, who are very keen to Wikidata and can provide a talk in Prague. I believe, they're connected to the Wikidata-list, yet I can provide contact, if they don't response on their own.
Best regards, Jan
