I’m excited to announce the launch of the Wikimedia Deutschland Hardware Donation Program https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Wikimedia_Deutschland_Hardware_Donation_Program, which aims to provide used laptops to eligible Wikidata contributors who may not have access to the necessary hardware to continue their valuable contributions to the project.

To apply for a laptop, users must have actively contributed to Wikidata for at least 1 year. Contributions could include being an editor, conducting research related to Wikidata, developing software or tools related to Wikidata, or organizing Wikidata-related training for others. Applicants must also agree to identify themselves with WMDE and sign a brief agreement stating that they intend to use the donated hardware to support their activity on Wikidata.

Applications will be reviewed by WMDE staff with an observer from the community, and decisions will be based on the set criteria and the availability of equipment.
