Hello esteemed team !
Someone noted on Property Talk about https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property_talk:P1748
that an external id should be used ?
I added just a few codes to test what is happening, and the CODE on the left does populate, like this one for Death https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1931388 it shows my newly added C28554 on the left under External properties, but yeah, it is not a clickable link.
The Formatter URL does indeed work when populated with that C28554 code...so...
What could be the issue with the CODE not displaying with the Formatter URL and being clickable ?

Hi Thad,
This ID is a clickable link when I look at the page on my laptop, but not when using the mobile version (https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1931388)
Could it be because this identifier was put in the wrong place (in the "statements" block and not in the "identifiers" block) ?
Cheers,
Ettore

Level 2 HELP needed from Wikidata Tech team... :)
Ettore,
I saw you experimented with adding it to Identifiers, and I also did... it seems it did not help give a clickable link via Formatter URL.
Another interesting thing I saw was that it threw a Single Value Constraint error...even though it is a single value "C81239"
So I think something is buggy somewhere with this P1748 property....and why I am asking for help from Wikidata Tech team. :)

You might consider filing a bug report in Phabricator. :)

Hey Thad,
Sorry it took me a bit to reply because of Wikimania. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1931388 does have a link for the NCI Thesaurus ID for me. The reason for it not being in the external identifier section is that it has datatype string and not external identifier like the others in the external identifier section. It can be converted if there is rough consensus to do so. Are there still other issues that I didn't answer?

No other issues, Lydia. Thanks for the answer.
How or where to give my vote for consensus of that ?

There is https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Identifier_migration/1 though that is a bit older.

I recant.
Pigsonthewing was correct in his initial review. NCI Thesaurus ID is better to be treated as a pure Code string to be used across multiple Value Sets that NCI maintains mappings for https://ncit.nci.nih.gov/ncitbrowser/ajax?action=create_src_vs_tree&nav_type=valuesets&mode=0 . In other words, the NCI Thesaurus ID Code string can be queried across multiple NCI URLs (sub databases) not only the NCIt database.
And it looks like we already created a property to hold the CUI Concept Unique Identifier https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P2892 that NCImetathesaurus (NCIm) uses as the top level identifier in its grand terminology database which holds complete mappings. https://ncim.nci.nih.gov/ncimbrowser/pages/concept_details.jsf?dictionary=NCI%20Metathesaurus&code=C0007465&type=all
So, in short, we are in excellent shape for cross references.
