Hi Lydia,
These updates are a lot like a blog. Can it be a real blog? WordPress should be fairly easy to set up :)

While I do want to expand the updates and have spoken to Lydia about how we can, a full blown thing similar to the Signpost is not really on the board. The occasional longer piece of writing regarding the community we discussed but have not really tasked not further.

I was not talking about anything like The Signpost. The Signpost is not a blog, but a big collection of articles presented as a news site.

Posting it to a blog would save you the trouble of manually announcing the mailing list, and would be easier to check in general. Reguarly checking a blog is also easier than checking a wiki page.

Automatically posting it here? It'd seem a bit unpersonal. But I won't object. Automatic blog: unless there is more demand for it, I'd say no. If someone wants an RSS feed they can for example use this one: https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikidata/Newsletter/Archive&...

I want an RSS feed, and the current RSS feed is pretty awful, because it shows a diff of wiki syntax.
These updates look a lot like blog posts, so they should be blog posts.

The content is now and likely always will be *first* publushed on Meta. I personally think it would have been better to have published it on Wikidata, but it is a year too late for a change in venue now.
Moving from a wiki page, which everyone can build/edit, to a blog, which few people could build/edit, seems like a downgrade in this case.
