Hey folks :)
Here comes birthday present number one from the dev team. Jonas took some time and reworked the UI of http://query.wikidata.org to make it prettier and easier to understand. It also has more examples now. You can expand them on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase/Indexing/SPARQL_Query_Examples. The auto-completion has also been improved. Check it out! I hope you like it.
Cheers Lydia
Hoi, Thank you :) It is indeed a wonderful evolutionary step. It looks clean and the results are neat.
Would it be possible to have the results optionally in another format? When it is possible to have the results in a format where it can be picked up by one of Magnus's tools it would be actually useful. For best results it needs to be configurable; not everyone wants or needs the same tooling..
Thanks, GerardM

We have export formats - CSV, TSV, JSON, etc. (look for "Download results" link on the right side). If you would like to see any other format that is not supported now, please ask (best in the form of Phabricator ticket but writing on feedback page or mail works too).

@Stas: We don't seem to have XML output from the query editor at present, which is strange, as it is one of the formats mandated by the SPARQL standard.
@Gerard: You can run a SPARQL query straight from the "Create a new pile" screen on PagePile, and PagePile will treat the first column as a list of Wikidata IDs to feed into Magnus's pipeline. Just cut and paste the query text from the query editor to the PagePile, and then hit "Do it".
