I don't know what the solution is but the current situation doesn't seem to work, I spent at least 40 hours (+ Nav's time) to import the 670 items and the data I imported has already started to become less correct through user edits and bot edits.
If you start from the assumption that the starting data is perfect, of course it can only get worse. I'm not sure what was your purpose in importing this dataset (is there a page describing the effort?) but you might want to look into another method.
All the datasets I've seen imported on Wikidata have been improved significantly on the wiki. Of course, one has to live with the fact that the dataset will diverge. That's hardly a novel challenge: free software flourishes with forks, and each language edition of Wikipedia has its own version of each article.
