I agree it's important to have something ready and engaging (or at least
not frustrating) for course attendees to make some first edits quickly
on Wikidata.
I have tried the primary sources tool once, but mix'n'match/Wikidata
game worked quite well with librarians. It's important to start with a
task which is self-contained and understandable for the audience
(nothing that requires checking dozen pages) and which doesn't require
wrestling with the interface.
For instance, I prefer to work on small Wikidata items because in the
bigger ones it's so hard to miss the "add statement" button that I'm
forced to babysit every attendee individually until their scrolling
abilities reach biathlon level (
