It is a bit strange to defines a data type in terms of a library of functions in another language. Or is just me that thinks this is a bit odd?

Documentation? What will downstream users like us need to do to support this? How is this mapped to JSON? How is this mapped to RDF? It is a string representing markup for the Math extension.
