Hello everyone,
I was wondering about the example query "Average number of children per
year". When I try to parse this using OpenRDF, I get the error
"projection alias 'year' was previously used", in Jena "Variable used
when already in-scope: ?year in ((str ?year) AS ?year)". This seems to
be in line with the sparql specifications.
However, query.wikidata.org accepts it just fine. So I was wondering how
exactly this kind of situation is being resolved.
Greetings,
Adrian
Hello all,
During Wikimania, Lydia presented the status of the lexicographical data on
Wikidata <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Wiktionary>. You can find
the slides here
<https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/File:Wikimania_2017_-_Bringing_Lexicographica…>
.
We're also happy to announce that there is now a demo system ready
<http://wikidata-lexeme.wmflabs.org/index.php/Main_Page>, where you can try
structured lexicographical data as it will appear on Wikidata. Please note
the following:
- The system is not persistent for now, the information are not stored
and will disappear if you reload the pages
- The structure of the pages is based on the data model
<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WikibaseLexeme/Data_Model>,
but the content and the properties will be decided by the community in the
future. We created a few for the demo, feel free to create others.
- The design of the page is also expected to change, this is not the
final version
Feel free to try it, give us feedback or ask questions. See also the
Phabricator board
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/tag/lexicographical_data>. Thanks for
your support!

Magnus,
Jane was very helpful, and I was able to load in the ID which were
returning errors.
However, the problem now is that the query returns only ~11,000 results,
though it should return nearly 14,000.

I'm getting 100% "invalid snak." errors when I run quickstatement (version
1 and 2).
It's been awhile since I used it, so I did a single statement, which
worked, then 10 or so, which also worked. I did 100 statements & spot
checked a couple of them, which seemed to work. I tried 500 and it didn't
(I hadn't noticed the error log beneath the HOWTO until this point). I
switched to version 2, and can't update with that either. I can manually
update the same records, but something's gone wrong with my use of
quickstatements. Magnus, someone help?
I'm copy & pasting from Excel:
Q6272416 P2750 1946
Q64714 P2750 1956
Q5301725 P2750 1976
Q18356603 P2750 2010
etc.
Many thanks in advance (love this tool).
David

Has it been created any stakeholder group for this project, and who are the
members? It is now several years since I pointed out that WMDE can't both
deliver the software and be stakeholders at the same time. In a stakeholder
group there must be people form both the data providers (repo, Wikidata)
and data consumers (clients, Wikipedia, etc).
