Dear Art+Feminism Community,
As a collective committed to justice and equity, we’re reaching out to share an opportunity to support one of our own. Anthony Diaz, an Art+Feminism Network Organizer in the Philippines and head of Wiki Advocates Philippines UG, has been directly impacted by Typhoon Kristine. The storm has brought record-breaking rainfall, causing the worst flooding in Bicol in over five decades. It has displaced nearly 50,000 people, destroyed homes, and left entire areas submerged, with major roads impassable and communities cut off from essential resources.
Despite facing his own losses, including the flooding of his home, Anthony and a team of volunteers have continued their relief efforts, providing bottled water and food to stranded passengers along the highway. This crisis is a stark reminder of how climate change and environmental disasters disproportionately impact marginalized communities—an issue that aligns deeply with our mission at Art+Feminism. Supporting Wiki Advocates Philippines UG’s relief work is one way we can put our values into action, standing in solidarity with communities facing immediate and urgent needs.
To help sustain these efforts, we’re launching a fundraiser that will run until November 14. All donations will go directly to Wiki Advocates Philippines UG https://35df92cb.streak-link.com/CLk5imOsLGdGYfSfxQ1bYtWg/https%3A%2F%2Fwikiadvocatesph.org%2F, supporting their work in providing essential supplies to those affected in Bicol. Your support will help sustain their relief effort, allowing us to stand in solidarity with communities facing urgent challenges.
