Dear all,
I’ll be giving a Wikimedia workshop for biodiversity GLAMers on Wednesday at the National Botanical Garden in Meise, Belgium (cf. http://wiki.pro-ibiosphere.eu/wiki/Pro-iBiosphere_final_event_Meise_%28Bruss... ) and would appreciate any info or update that you might have on GLAM-wiki or Open GLAM activities in relation to natural history museums, botanical gardens, zoos or similar institutions.
Thanks and cheers,
Daniel

QRpedia remains a viable option for botanical gardens - articles on plants and animals tend to appear in many languages.
ORCID will be important to those who publish, and can be included on Wikipedia/ sister project user pages.
Hope the event goes well.
Thanks, Andy.
QRpedia is certainly one of the things I am going to mention, and so is authority control. However, the deactivation of the stats have made QRpedia less useful for GLAMs.

Some stats on the usage of QRpedia can be found through stats.wikimedia.org.uk
The feedback is, however, that as things stand at the moment it's not an easy to use interface. This is something Wikimedia UK is keen to address and we're looking at whether a skin can built around the tool.
Hopefully that would aid an already useful tool, but I don't know how long it would take to customise. I appreciate GLAMs want to understand how often QRcodes are being scanned and making this information easy to access is important.

Thanks to all for your comments. The workshop went well, and it was useful that Romaine of the nascent Belgian chapter was present for local networking. I used the Hungary report from the May newsletter as an illustration of QRpedia and GLAM partnerships in general. My presentation sits at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Daniel_Mietchen/Talks/Bouchout_Castle_201... .
