There is no reason list admins should bother with this if people are so lazy they cant even see the bottom of each email has an unsubscribe link and spam the whole list with their "request". Infact, anyone who sends such a "request" to the list should be banned from sending further emails to the list. They would ofcourse continue receiving emails until they follow the unsubscribe link ;)

While the intention is well-meaning, existing data and personal experience suggests that this advice does not change the frequency of "please unsubscribe me!"-emails in any way.
The most appropriate response is cut&paste of the sender's email address and enterin it into the form at https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/glam yourself, then clicking "unsubscribe". The person will receive a confirmation email in order to unsubscribe.
It is the least time-consuming, least meta-discussion-triggering and most service-minded response I am aware of.
