Wiki Loves Public Space in Belgium starts today

Dear all, Today at 1 July the photo contest *Wiki Loves Public Space* started in Belgium. This year is the first year in what we have during the full Summer freedom of panorama <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_panorama> in Belgium ( info <https://be.wikimedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_panorama>), which means that modern buildings and artworks in the public space can be photographed and freely be published. For years it was not possible to illustrate articles with photos of modern buildings and artworks in the public space due the limitations of the Belgian copyright law. To celebrate this freedom and to compensate the many years of not being allowed to upload photos of these Belgian subjects (and thus bare articles), we organise this photo contest. During the Summer months July and August 2017 anyone can participate by uploading their own photos from modern buildings, public artworks, heritage monuments and memorials, present in the public space in Belgium. Also photos you made earlier are welcome. Hi Arne, I'm currently preparing a big upload of medieval manuscripts for he KB (using the glamwiki toolset), I'm using the Book and Artwork templates for that. Let's have a call or a visit about how to optimize the possibilities of these templates, I'm looking to improve as well. I'm away next week, but in the week after my agenda is pretty open. In the meantime you could check out "Digitised version of the Beyeren Armorial" and "Trivulzio" (not sure of the exact category names, pls search on Commons) to get an idea of how I used the templates so far. Metadata of digitized manuscripts

Hey all, I'm helping out with an upload of digitized manuscripts. We were discussing the metadata that come with those, and there were some issues that weren't covered by any of the existing useful templates (book or artwork). However, I would still prefer to use an existing template instead of building something from different fields. Does anyone have experience with uploading manuscripts and associated metadata to Commons, and can point me to some examples of how specific problems were solved? Creative Commons Open GLAM Platform

Hello everyone, As part of the new strategy of Creative Commons (which you can read about here: https://creativecommons.org/2017/01/24/cc-community-releases-movement-strat…), CC is now opening the discussion over "platforms", which are defined areas of work where people can join to collaborate and work together. This is an ongoing discussion and platforms are supposed to be approved by next year, when the new governance structure takes place.
