Hello everyone!
As an outcome of the GLAM Wiki Conference, Wikimedistas de Uruguay is
facilitating a community process to redesign the public presence of GLAM
Wiki on Meta, in collaboration with the broader GLAM Wiki movement and the
Wikimedia Foundation. In order to do so, we are forming a working group
that will work throughout April-August in revamping these pages, with the
goal of presenting them to the broader community in August, at Wikimania in
Poland.
We're now searching for people with interest in being part of this working
group. If that's you, read more details and apply here:

Hello:
One of the declared goals of the SGS Pilot 1[1] is the bundling of
museology practices for very small GLAM institutions. I've just found the
SPECTRUM[2] body of procedures and I'm amazed. My problem is the Collection
Trust explicitly prohibit derived works:
*«Under no circumstances may you develop products or services which may be
deemed commercially to compete with the products or services of the
Collections Trust, its partners or affiliates. For the purposes of clarity,
this shall be understood to include translations, localisations or
derivative works, the creation of which shall in all cases be subject to
express prior written consent from the Collections Trust.»*
The first thought is obviously to email the Trust to ask about any
potential of releasing under a Wikimedia compatible license but I guess
this would be a failed attempt, especially because I'm a nobody for them
with zero influence potential.
The second thought is to look for an open alternative. So, here I am: does
anyone knows and opensource alternative to de SPECTRUM standard? If not so
comprehensive, something advanced enough to use a knowledge base.
Thanks.
