GLAM & Culture office hours in January and February

The GLAM & Culture team at the Foundation is resuming its monthly office hours <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_GLAM_team/Office_Hours…> for 2021. These meetings are intended as a forum for Wikimedians and GLAM professionals to share ideas, conversations, and creativity. The January meeting will introduce the Foundation's latest round of project grants for community organizing <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project> and we'll be joined by program officer Marti Johnson. These grants are for individuals, groups, or organizations to run projects that benefit the Wikimedia movement. The meetings will take place in Zoom on Monday 25 January 4.30-5.30pm UTC <https://wikimedia.zoom.us/j/99588568064> and Tuesday 26 January 9.30am-10.30pm UTC <https://wikimedia.zoom.us/j/91745569202>. The February meeting will focus on analytics. Wikimedia Switzerland and Wikimedia Israel will talk about their collaboration to localize and extend the Cassandra tool <https://stats.wikimedia.swiss/>. Trilce Navarrete and Elena Villaespesa will share their analysis of the consumption of museum images on Wikipedia, Digital Heritage Consumption: The Case of the Metropolitan Museum of Art <https://edizionicafoscari.unive.it/riviste/magazen/2020/2/digital-heritage-…>. Hello everyone, We have our next LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group Call on Tuesday, February 23rd at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 17:00 UTC / 6pm CET. We will be hearing from Jason Evans, Wikimedian in Residence at the National Library of Wales, on adding bibliographic data to Wikidata. The call details are below. We will be hearing from historians Mikki Brock (W&L University) and Chris Langley (Newman University), Project Directors for Mapping the Scottish Reformation<https://mappingthescottishreformation.org/>. Funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Strathmartine Trust, the project uses Wikidata as a store for information about Scottish clergy gleaned from manuscripts dating from 1560 to 1698; Wikidata exports are then used to populate interactive maps that allow the end user to access data about the Scottish clergy in an efficient, accurate, and comprehensive manner.
