Sorry to have to suggest this, but could we block "ktchan.info" from posting until the spam problem can be reliably fixed in some other way? I am fully aware that this is not Katie's fault, but this has continued for quite a while now.

Because the spoofed email actually ever went through any server under my control and it's not because someone simply specified a from address belonging to a list subscriber after a direct connection to fermium.wikimedia.org....

Katie, I'm not suggesting this is your fault, nor that it went via your server. I'm highly aware that this could happen to any of our posters. However I have pondered on it, and spamming email lists needs to be controlled. So far nobody seems to have a working solution that stops the spam and would at the same time avoid blocking your posts from the same address. It may be an idea for you to create a disposable account to email from, until someone has a fix for the lists that enables better header tests.
