OK! Thanks! Presumably there is no other way for me.
Have a good weekend.

Hi there Michael, I've attempted to cut and paste the emails. Are you able to see them now?

Hello Dear Wikipedia,
I would like to bring to your attention the aesthetic variations between pictorials relating to the human reproductive organs (genitals).
The main observation is the aesthetic variances between the human male and human female depictions of genitals.
It is also interesting to note the ratio of male genital depictions versus female genital depictions.
Would it not be more consistent to use a more balanced and cohesive aesthetic style across the whole subject of human reproduction and sexuality?
I look forward to your response, and thank you in advance.
With regards,
Leilah

Thanks for your quick response.
Censorship was not the basis of my observation, and apologies if this was unclear.
I hold the belief that Wikimedia is pro-active in moderating content for balance regardless of position on censorship etcetera.
I, too, don't necessarily like censorship especially where education is concerned.
That said, it seems there is some inadvert self-censorship of male human genitalia taking effect on Wikipedia.
Your response suggests this is by the contributors themselves.
I don't want to scare you (I really don't), but it might be interesting for Wikimedia to note the ratio of male to female contributors.
In any case, thanks again.

I'm not sure how I could/can help.
Maybe, at this point in the development of Wikipedia, the gender ratio of moderators is another way...
But I guess moderators are appointed on the basis of their input as contributors...
I'm sure Wikipedia is working on it.
Thanks and best for the day,

Some food for thought on those mailing lists, perhaps? Why not approach schools for contributors? If you haven't already. :)

Yes, and we do discuss that here. One train of thought is to use images of people as they are rather than idealized images.

Hi
Why is an OTRS ticket being discussed on a public mailing list? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the ticket info and address were supposed to be private, unless otherwise noted, no?

I didn't see anything confidential here. OTRS referred her to this list.

Theo - From what I understand, the agent told the "customer" (Leilah Ozaibi) to bring the subject up on the gender gap list.
Leilah forwarded it - she is the person who inquired to OTRS. So it's in her control - it wasn't forwarded by an OTRS agent, be assured!

That's not quite how I would put it. OTRS agents are not to release ticket contents without permission, but people sending OTRS inquiries are free to release them as they wish.

Leilah,
I can see a number of the e-mails attached below, but it seems your first mail (or at any rate the beginning of the conversation), is missing.
Could you outline for us what you said in your original mail? Basically, people here are aware of the problem, are trying to work on it, and further data or specific observations are welcome.
Andreas
