I figure it's high time to start a positive (or call to action oriented) focus thread again that is focused on empowering women on this list to share.
Women - and those who identify as - what have you been editing lately?
---
I've been working hard at building my "to do" lists for the crowdsourcing aspect of my World Digital Library project. I miss having time to edit and write larger articles, but, that isn't in the cards yet.
On the flipside, I've been helping out at Articles for Creation again. We have a backlog of over 1000!!! :)

Good luck with the AfC backlog Sarah - it depresses me to just think about that.
Here in Haarlem we are celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the Frans Hals Museum. There are copies of Frans Hals paintings placed strategically around town to show what the museum has to offer. One of the men who is featured in 3 paintings in the museum was plastered all over town in the bus stops on a poster. His portrait as an individual is not here though, it's in Cincinnati. Haarlem basically only has the group portraits left, the rest have all left town. There are still over 70 people featured in those group portraits though, and I thought it would be cool to reunite them on wiki with their individual portraits.
After talking about it for 2 years, I have finally created the list of Frans Hals paintings, and though I promised myself I would be done by the museum's "birthday" of May 14th, of course people keep reminding me now about other paintings to include.

Definitely something to help increase number of women-related articles (though not too many of mine are).
Or increase our ability to generate them, especially those who may be have more enthusiasm for the referencing stage than the writing and defending edits stages...
I tend to avoid AfC, and #wikipedia-en-help because the people who tend to it also tend to really violate WP:OWN in a good-faith and incompetent manner. I'm sure the majority of articles in AfC will eventually pass muster, even if they don't when they are first reviewed. The few who can't is what makes me very, very wary of helping with AfC backlog.
I tend towards new and random page patrol, and vandal fighting myself. I've somewhat recently downloaded Huggle on my mac. There was some issues with Huggle starting at first ("Huggle needed to shut down" kind of messages), but since Wine Bottler updated, I haven't had any issues with that.

This is the kind of thread I like... ;)
I've put myself in the Wikicup, so many of my edits are with the competition in mind. I have a FA ([[Heart of a Woman]], Maya Angelou's fourth autobiography) that just passed, and I have four others languishing at GAC. I also have an Angelou featured topic that's getting close to passing. I've been reviewing a lot of GAs these days; for some reason, a lot of basketball articles, a subject I know very little about. (That's the fun of reviewing articles--you get exposed to all kinds of new and different topics.) Fortunately, the article I'm currently reviewing for GAC has gender-gap connections, [[Australia women's national wheelchair basketball team at the 2012 Summer Paralympics]]. I recently reviewed [[Cobi Crispin]], one of the major players for the Aussie team. These girls are very impressive.
The Wikicup has really tapped into my competitive streak. We're currently two weeks into the third round. I easily passed the first, and stayed at about hafl-way through the pack during the second, although I was second in my pool, behind an editor who came in third last year. Right now, my scores are low, but once my FA goes through, I'll be in contention. Very fun!

Ryan, I feel the same way, and I keep wondering what I can do to help populate Wikimedia Commons categories of artists. I feel quite proud of the list I produced, and I uploaded a bunch of images to get it this long. I have been fascinated by the stories of the women on the list and made two entries for them: [[Dorothea Berck]] and her daughter [[Isabela Coymans]]. Work on the first one led me to add a picture to the [[Mary Frick Jacobs]] page.
Ideally, we could build some easy upload link on commons to populate such lists. Many art lovers have the ability to work on the lists, but are complete newbies on Commons. We have seen this with the Wiki Loves Monuments project. I just updated the Wikipedia page on that to help explain how the lists work, as a way of helping newcomers to `WLM, but also as a prompt to do the same thing for " Lists of artworks".
My list of Frans Hals paintings is much longer, and only the ones with pictures on Commons are in there right now. I think it would be useful to put the lost & stolen ones on the list with an " easy upload link" so people can contribute black&white scans from old art books. Jane

That's very cool!
Lately I've been mostly spending my time planning events in the San Francisco region: our Maker Faire booth was this past weekend, and we're having an edit-a-thon on Sat 25 (you should come if you're in the area!) And I'm giving a talk to a big group of librarians on Wednesday.
Editing-wise I've mainly been doing routine cleanup (and work on Wikidata!)... I've been slowly working on longtime projects to reference biographies of National Medal of Science winners and biographies of scientists that are listed in the Dictionary of Scientific Biography, focusing on the women. And I recently went on an article rating kick for the engineering wikiproject (which needs some love!).
One neat thing: I recently stumbled across and did a little work on the article about the amazing Dorothy Garrod: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorothy_Garrod I love it when I come across a biography of someone that I knew nothing about before and am just totally blown away by their work and career.
cheers, -- phoebe
Phoebe, that's so cool! It's always nice to see other people working on women scientists. :)
Myself, I've been taking a break from the scientific biography and working on [[Blue Qur'an]] - it's such a beautiful manuscript and so unique!

Very nice article Phoebe, I'll try to expand the Polish version, which is currently a stub.
I was recently working on a list of Polish women in botany and mycology, and created the article with biography of Jadwiga Wołoszyńska: http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jadwiga_Wo%C5%82oszy%C5%84ska She was the first women graduating the Lviv University.
Best regards,
