I suspect because there's so much controversy surrounding the very existence of the April 1st commemoration on the main page.
I have to say, reading this article was refreshing, in a way. I've spent a lot of today working on an FAC review for an article; actually, my very first one. I wouldn't have done it without its main editor asking me, since up to now, I've been afraid of reviewing at FAC. One positive thing out of it is that now that I've gotten my feet wet, I feel more comfortable doing it again. I mean, I expect other editors to review the articles I submit, so it's fair to pass it forward to others.
Anyway, this is the article's 5th FAC, and although it's been submitted by a very-active and very-experienced editor, the prose is really poor. Now mind you, its first three FACs were several years ago, and it's only the 2nd that he's submitted for it. But still....
So like I said, it's fun to come across a witty, well-written, and fun article on WP. It reminds me of one of my all-time favorite articles on WP, [[The Museum of Bad Art]], written by the great and missed Moni3, who's been one of my mentors in WP. I actually gave a speech about MOBA at Toastmasters; maybe I should make one about this museum! Or maybe not. ;)

I think it was actually once proposed for the Main Page April Fool’s FA. Can’t remember why it got turned down, though—people probably thought it would be too controversial.
