Hello all!
Apologies if you receive this email more than once.
We are writing to you about the Support & Safety team’s training modules on Dealing with Online Harassment https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Training_modules/Online_harassment/drafting and Keeping Events Safe https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Training_modules/Keeping_events_safe/drafting.[1][2] We know members of this list have experience dealing with these issues and have valuable opinions on the best practices for these situations.
The latest news is that we have completed a first draft for each module’s content!
Since our goal is to build modules that are usable, understandable, and informative, we would greatly appreciate you reading through one or both of the modules and giving us your feedback in whichever of these ways works for you (or more than one, if you want!). We will be incorporating feedback and expanding these drafts over the coming months. Here are surveys on the two topics:
-

Or, if you prefer, you can use the draft talk pages:

Our legal team is also working on a guide to handling private information https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Training_modules/Handling_private_information/drafting.[7] If you have time, feedback on this content is welcome on the talk page https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Training_modules/Handling_private_information/drafting&action=edit&redlink=1 .
We should note that these drafts are for the modules’ content, not their final layout or design. To participate in planning the design, and see some possible options, please join the discussion here https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Training_modules/Design_ideas.[8]
In more meta news about our Training Module work, we invite you to sign up https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Training_modules/Contact_list for our Training Modules development newsletter.[9] In the future, we will be using this signup list in combination with Mass Message to send out updates like this to the talk pages of users who sign up to receive them. We hope this will cut down on the volume of potentially-unwanted emails we send out.
Thanks for your opinions and feedback, and best to you in the new year,
The Support and Safety team at the Wikimedia Foundation
