*Apologies if you receive this as a cross-posting.*
Hi Wikipedians,
I have written a *Wikimedia Grant Proposal: "Twitterpedian-in-Residence"* and
would be grateful for review, feedback, advice, and endorsement, if the
proposal seems positive.
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/BrillLyle/Twitterpedian-in-R…
*Background*
In the last few months I have seen, been referred to, or tagged by friends
(who know about my Wikipedia obsession) on quite a few social media posts
written by people who are very unhappy with their Wikipedia entries. People
don't know how to fix their pages. And there doesn't appear to be an easy
answer or approach to talk with a human about the problem. Often, they try
to fix the problem themselves, which only exacerbates the problem. And they
hate their picture, etc. It goes on and on.
After the last few experiences where I have done significant amounts of
editing, it occurred to me that a more formalized answer might be a good
beta test solution to this problem.
I am a strong believer in the Wikipedian-in-Residence programs and GLAM
initiatives, so I envision this proposal within that type of framework.
Thanks so much in advance,
- Erika

Dear friends,
I'm about to submit a manuscript for the upcoming issue on Feminist
engagements with archives and new modes of History published by the
Australian Feminist Studies and I would love to have a bit more activity on
the Wikipedia bias detector that we are building and I am presenting in
this paper. That is why I am asking you If you feel like exploring the
feature a bit. When accessing the prototype you will be able to explore a
few Wikipedia categories and react with the feedback buttons is you think
that there is any biased information. This prototype will be adapted for
the upcoming art+feminism edit-a-thon, if feel like you can give us a hand
with that, we would love to hear from you!

Many thanks neotarf. The problem on this article wos non only bibliographic
references, but also the general question about which biografies of member
of the Italian resistance may be accepted . We matched question related to
gender gap and question related to general politics.

*TL:DR: The Community Engagement department invites you to participate in
the Leadership Development Dialogue now through October 16th [1]*
Hello there,
One of the really valuable, parts of our community, is the growing number
of volunteers who step beyond their comfort zone, and become guides,
mentors, and leaders for other parts of the volunteer community. This act
of emerging, to take on responsibilities that strengthen our community is
widespread, but also something that we need to embrace, refine and improve,
so that we have the capacity to meet our broader mission.
>From now through October 16th, the Community Engagement department invites
you to participate in an online dialogue about just how to describe and
build the leadership capacity. Please invite all who may be interested by
forwarding to your local community mailing lists, and be sure to join us
at: [1] https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_Engagement/
Leadership_Development_Dialogue
In particular, we need your help:
-
Improving the “Learning Days” and other leadership development programs
supported by the WMF and other organizations
-
Refining the language and concepts we use to describe “leadership” -- in
our initial exploratory engagement of focus groups, we found that the word
“leader” does not translate well across language and cultures.
In behalf of the Community Engagement department, we hope to see you on the
wiki!
