Namaskara,
This might be some food for thought, and inputs are welcome. India mailing
list is the largest and most widely used Wikimedia mailing list for the
Indian community. Could we have a practice that all grant requests from the
country (or related to) are informed on the Wikimediaindia-l mailing list?
Whether it is a state-level, project-level, language-level etc, or whether
it is a rapid grant, project grant etc it would be good to see the plan
details on this mailing list in advance. It will ensure greater visibility,
and it will also ensure the community's understanding/knowing of each
other's projects.
If we can have a practice like this, we can inform Wikimedia, or CR team or
relevant support structure(s) as an India community practice.
This post is in my personal capacity. Please assume good faith

be used to help with repetitive processes and editing, and the Pywikibot
community, learning resources and community venues. Please note that you do
not need any technical experience to attend the workshop, only some
experience contributing to Wikimedia projects is enough.
Details of the workshop are as follows:
- Date: 27 February

Dear All,
Hope you have been well. I am writing to share that the final report of our
study "Bridging the Gender Gap: A Report on Indian Language Wikimedia
Communities" has been published on Wikimedia Meta-Wiki [1] and the CIS
website [2].
For me a valuable part of this research was networking with the various
Wikimedia contributors and learning how to be part of the extensive
Wikimedia projects.
Please revert with any queries or feedback on the report; do share this
with your networks.

Thanks and Regards,

CIS-A2K.
Hello,
The Access to Knowledge (A2K) team at CIS has been engaged with work
on research on Indian language Wikimedia projects as part of the APG since
2019. This year, following up on our learnings from work so far, we are
undertaking a needs assessment exercise to understand a) the awareness
about research within Indian language Wikimedia communities, and identify
existing projects if any, and b) to gather community inputs on knowledge
gaps and priority areas of focus and the role of research in addressing the
same.
We would therefore request interested community members to respond to the
needs assessment questionnaire here: https://forms.gle/2xGAUBKSVJTK7Wks9
The deadline to submit your response has been extended till 5 March 2021.
Feel free to write in any language. For any query please write to us at:

Dear Indic Wikimedians,
Since the call for feedback[1] regarding the community-sourced Wikimedia
Foundation Board seats began on 1 February, it has been quite interesting.
Since it has been a couple of weeks, I would like to share a few updates
with you all:
-
First weekly report[2]: This report covers activity between 1-7 February.
-
Second office hours[3]: There will be four sessions to cover various
time zones, on 20 February. Three of them will be feasible for India
(according typical day timings) - 11:30 am, 3:30 pm, 9:30 pm [all in IST].
-
Anonymous feedback form[4]: This form provides an option for people who
may not wish to publish feedback publicly themselves.
I also had several interesting conversations with several communities all
through this week, which will reflect in the second weekly report. If you
want us to organize a conversation or a meeting for your wiki project or
your affiliate, please write to me.
Best,
Krishna Chaitanya
