For some of you, who are not aware, SVG Translation Campaign has been
started on 21 February 2019 (marking the International Mother Language Day)
and will continue until 31 March 2019. The objective of the campaign is to
translate English-labelled SVG diagrams in English to various Indian

The main category for creations from the campaign is at

There are a few more coming up this week. You can read more about these at

Post-campaign, we'll first be cleaning up files, which will include
checking the author, source, descriptions, categories, and other version
templates, are correctly placed. This will be done until 21 April, and then
we'll move on to deciding the final metrics and top contributors.
I thank all the language organisers

and
participants for making this initiative a successful one, and CIS-A2K for
supporting this campaign in several ways. If you're interested or need any

Hi,
WMIN chapter president Rahul Deshmukh attended Wikimania 2018 in Cape Town
without being selected for any type of scholarship. My question is why was
he sent to the conference depriving other community members from India who
were in the waiting list.
He spoke in the informal chairpersons' meetup for few minutes. The meeting
doesn't require president of the organization's presence, and already there
were 2 EC member of WMIN present, who could have attended the meeting.
To me, this is utter misuse of power and abuse of donation money.
Thanks,
Bodhisattwa
Hello everyone
This is to bring in your kind notice that during Women Train the Train
Program in Delhi on 9th March 2019, we had a session on Trust and Safety
with Ms. Sydney Poore where she informed us about the different initiatives
planned by the team at WMF to make the Wikimedia a more secure place for
everyone.
On those lines, Community Health Initiative is a combined project that
involves multiple initiatives (designing harassment tools like user
reporting system, etc.) to counter issues and discussions to make them
better. One of these initiatives is forming a user reporting system to make
it easier for people experiencing harassment and other forms of abuse to
provide accurate information to the appropriate channel for action to be
taken. The success of this project depends on collecting ideas and feedback
from people in a variety of different roles in the Wikimedia movement. To
this end, there will be a multi-phased consultation where you can
participate in ways that you are most comfortable. Please visit the User
reporting system consultation page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Community_health_initiative/User_reporting_…>
to learn more about the process, ask questions, or offer feedback. You also
can sign up to be a liaison for the community or to translate messages or
join a focus group.
We need to discuss the existing systems and share our inputs on how we can
make it better. We have listed the objectives of this initiative and the
relevant resources on our central Indic Wikimedia Portal under the
head- Community
Health Initiative
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Indic_Wikimedia_Portal/Community_Health_Ini…>.
If you feel interested to work on this, please list your names as Community
Liaisons in the relevant section on the page. We understand that you might
have a lot of questions about this, please feel free to list them in the
relevant section on the page. The intention to share the information before
the beginning of the Discussion Phase is to understand how many of us are
interested in working on this. If there is a need, we’ll plan hangouts
sessions for clarity of the project and the desired inputs of interested
candidates.
Looking forward to working cumulatively to make Wikimedia projects a better
space for participation.

Manavpreet Kaur

Hello All,
The idea behind of this application is to create video (text animation with
audio). User can select article from wikipedia and app create video (text
animation with audio). Application works like editor it will helps you to
add text, text animation and audio. it will fetch text/media from wikipedia
using API, then click the "Create" button to generate video.
Please feel free to share your feedback.
Thanks & Regards
