Here is Everton (or Tom, or user:everton137) from Wikimedia Brasil. I'm going to Wikimania this year and I'd like to make some suggestions and questions, but before I want know which list is better, the general list or the planning list? Since both are very quiet, I'm in doubt.
When in doubt, go for the open list for everyone. We really welcome discussion regarding Wikimania, including the program.
All submissions so far are available on a wiki:
http://wikimania2010.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikimania_submissions
Feel free to comment on them, propose changes or even contact the authors - - this will be certainly valuable feedback to organizers.
My suggestions will be about presentations topics I'd like to see (open educational resources and open government)
I think those subjects are welcome on Wikimania, even if open government might somewhat outside of the core focus of the community. It all depends on the speakers and presenters - if you have some ideas and would like to invite someone - go ahead; there is still time to put a program proposal (until May 20th).
questions will be about video streaming (Wikimania 2009 had an astonishing and efficient process of video recording and streaming)
I agree. We are working on having proper infrastructure in place to make this happen.
who are you thinking about invinting to the event
Do you mean invited talks (i.e. speakers and presentations we think should be there and we encourage them to come to Wikimania) or invitations for the attendees?
and if you are thinking about stopping 2 hours on 11th July, since it will be the final of FIFA World Cup, and if Brazil arrive there, I won't missed it!
It wasn't clear when we set the date and we have this unfortunate collision. I am sure that football fans will not regret coming to Gdańsk for Wikimania!
