the link there is wrong and i have now fixed it. it should have pointed to

page it was pointing to which was the unstable version of the homepage for
design changes etc... also "make it more obvious", okay... the meeting
announcement was IIRC sent to the foundation mailing list, wikimania mailing
list, in wikizine and was mentioned on the meta wiki and mania wiki. it was
also put up in various IRC channel topics and was probably sent elsewhere..
so if youve got any ideas as to where else we should put it ill try to find
time to put meetings announcements there
Look, would you consider using skype for some of these
discussions?
I'm not really used to using it a lot but it would seem friendlier than
IRC (by itself)

hmm skype, comercial and requires downloads. also its not used by CPG and
IMO irc is fine and is used by many people to communicate normally. you
have also been informed before of the different options of how to use IRC
and to me it just seems like you want to use this because its convienent for
you but its not to me so hey we go round in circles, but why change??

convenient to global groups, who are locked into their vertical walls and

basically IRC and mailing lists seems to have worked for a long time so why
change it to use skype or similar which would be new for many people?
I'll also mention that I'd quite happily beat
the bushes to see about
doing a global link up between Alexandria and the runners up and next year's
winner, using a fatter version of Skypecast called the Accessgrid.

I think the Bibliotech geeks (or a local uni) would be able to cover it,
and I've mentioned it to a few other node
operators for a while now. So as
long as there is an interesting programme, which might include a few big
names, who could pipe in from global places, I'm sure they'd help. It might
be useful for getting a few other National Libraries involved. E.g The one
in Oz has a fat pipe next door too.
hmm this kinda reads like a plug :-) but if we could get this done easily
then ive got no worries about it really
