Daniel,
I'm worried you're trying to reinvent #REDIRECT
I know it looks suboptimal the way it is, but it has proved working quite
efficiently
So what is clearly missing is a #REDIRECT for properties
That would only work if properties had *one* label, and that label was used as
the page title. But that is not the case: properties have one label per
language, the P-ID is used as the page title.
Unless we want to manage all labels and aliases of a property as page titles
(that redirect to the actual property page), the redirect mechanism won't work.
Doing this would get quite messy, and introduce more complexity and new
problems, I'm afraid.
You are correct that aliases that can be used as alternative names to address
properties are conceptually very similar to redirects. But the technical
mechanism doesn't quite fit. I can't see a feasible way to use the existing
redirect mechanism to implement what we want.
