Ahlan,
TN UG is a trustfull group, even more that OSM-Tunisia because we are an official UG. Deadline is today. Please send me ASAP the application to review it.
Am I considered as a member of the community HOT as a wikimedian? I never did an activity with HOT.
No you are not, and it doesn't mather
For the Youthmappers chapter? is wikimedia Tunisia linked to one?
No
In the group description, i give details about the UG or the medinapedia team?
TN User group, but give details about medinapedia project (e.g. ppt or url)
Do you know the prices of GPS devices and how many we need? I have no idea about them.
See below, we can ask for 3 montana (1 for Sfax, one for Tunis and one for other cities)
http://garmin-tunisie.com/fr/gps-de-randonnees/24-gps-158i.html
Let's say US$1500 for 3 montana, and you can verify with Garmin Tunisia
+216 70 73 20 70
https://www.amazon.fr/Garmin-Portable-Multi-activités-Randonnée-Appareil/dp…
Other expenses:
Mobile phone prepaid cards (to use internet during mapping tours)
Worshops expenses including paying an OSM expert.
I am not sure I can commit after Juin 2019 as I had an exam to prepare for december. What should I do? Do you think we can finish the work by the end of Juin?
We just need to get the grant, and then we can manage that, the medinapedia team will be in charge anyway
Regards,
Helmi

Houssem, is there an update? Deadline is in 2 days. We can add QR plates and see their answer later.
If you don't have a specialist, just put TBD (to be determined).
I can review the application.

Hi again,
Thanks for the guidance Helmi.
I was checking the Facebook page and noticed that some of our members are members there also. Can anyone of you guys give the workshop?
Have a good night all.

Ahlan,
You don't need to be a specialist. Just a project manager. Contact OSM Tunisia (see first email) , tell them we need 1 person to offer workshops. Pay that person and include it in your budget. It's an opportunity for the group to learn how to map. Please send the the request if you want to review it.
http://www.facebook.com/groups/47277958581https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-tn
I can only send you powerpoints about how to link wikidata/wikipedia with OSM. That's the only thing I know.
If you can't find someone from Tunisia, I can put you in contact with OSM-Montreal for a skype workshop. But keep it as a plan B or even C. Just start first by filling up the application.
http://www.openstreetmap-montreal.org
Possible expenses, see below. But the most important it to buy GPS devices, that we can use later for other projects.
For plates, you need to contact the grants team.
What if I have more questions?
Email microgrants(a)hotosm.org<mailto:microgrants@hotosm.org>
What costs are eligible?
This will be determined on a grant-by-grant basis, and could include, but are not limited to:
Equipment such as GPS devices, phones, laptops and other technical resources
Operations costs such as transportation, internet connectivity and meeting/working space rental
Additional eligible costs could include field or technical leadership/management training for key community leaders
If funding permits, costs of pursuing legal registration may also be eligible, as well as volunteer mapathon organization costs for leaders in North America and Europe who organize significant remote mapping events.

Hi
Thanks Helmi for sharing this with us and thank you Houcem for suggesting I apply for the grant.
Honeslty, I have no idea on how OSM works. I am not even a member of the community so not sure if I can apply.
I would love to get the grant to add geolocalisations of the monuments, but for sure I don't know how to do it or train people to do so.
I can take care of organizing the workshops (logistics), but not more. If you can apply for the grant Houcem, I would love to work on that with you.
And a question: Can we use the money to make the QRpedia plaques?
Have a nice day all,
Houssem

This year, we will be awarding Microgrants between $2,000-$5,000 for 8-10 communities throughout the world to reduce barriers and scale their mapping activities and impact. Applications for the 2019 Microgrants program are due by February 28 at 12midnight EST and can be found using this link. <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xTO-KK5zjrbdOOh1yGhZ1vmWwDUZgdmEePT9RiN…>
We especially encourage communities from the Caribbean, Middle East, North Africa, and Asia to apply, as well as those communities looking to diversify their mappers (gender balance, age, socioeconomic status, etc.), in order to continue expanding the global mapping community. Before submitting your application, ensure that you coordinate with other mapping communities in your country/region, finding opportunities for collaboration where possible and minimizing the number of applications that propose the same mapping project. For more information about the HOT Microgrants program and to see the application review criteria, please check the HOT blog<https://www.hotosm.org/updates/2019-hot-microgrants-program-empowering-loca…>.

WikiGap a également contribué à:
• créer des réseaux entre des femmes de différents secteurs;
• créer une nouvelle plate-forme pour engager les écrivains du monde entier;
Dear Mr.,
I thank you for your efforts. When I saw https://meta.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/Houssem_Abida/Medina…, I found that MedinaPedia Sfax Project will be finished on March 31, 2019. I think that this is absolutely not possible as we have only created 67 articles for MedinaPedia Sfax. From them, only 22 articles are currently finished as shown in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Tunisie/MedinaPedia_Sfax/Contribu…. A meeting can be needed to solve this matter.

Ahla bikom,
To add geocoordinates, please visit http://www.bing.com/maps/ then Select the satellite layer , right click on the relevant point, the coordinates are displayed on the second line, copy-paste them to Wikidata.
see for details
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Help:Find_coordinateshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Obtaining_geographic_coordinates
I just added an infobox (صندوق معلومات مبنى) for all markets on Arabic Wikipedia. By adding coordinates on Wikidata, they will automatically show up on Arabic Wikipedia.
See this one as exemple
https://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D8%B3%D9%88%D9%82_%D9%82%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%B9%D…
For English Wikipedia you can just add market infobox, later a bot will add Wikidata geolocations
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_retail_market
For French Wikipedia you can use a specific infobox but it seems not yet linked to Wikidata
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mod%C3%A8le:Infobox_March%C3%A9
Keep in mind also that Wikidata is supposed to accept only CC-0 and Public-domain data. When you get geocoordinates through Google Maps or Microsoft Bing, there is still legal and licensing issues. That data is still their propoerty. Even with OSM, there is some licensing issues.

Bonjour Houcem

Dear fellow Wikimedians,
You are receiving this message because you have been a point of contact in for the strategy team in phase 1. We are now on the search for representatives from the organized part of our movement who can act as liaisons between their group and the current phase of the Movement Strategy Process.[1]
The core goal of the Movement Strategy Process is to develop and implement recommendations for a structural reform of the Wikimedia Movement to advance in the Strategic Direction. Central to doing this effectively will be establishing a continuous dialogue with Individual Contributors as well as Organized Groups to ensure they remain up to date about the ongoing conversations and are enabled to provide input from their perspective.
With this email, we invite you to sign up as a Strategy Liaison for your Affiliate, group, collaboration or committee. As the interface between the overall process and organizations, Strategy Liaisons for Organized Groups will assist the flow of information so that Organized Groups can take part in global conversations and surface what matters most in their context.
Strategy Liaisons for Organized Groups will:
* Act as the bridge between Organized Groups and the overall Movement Strategy Process;
* Proactively update their organization about the ongoing work and how it can participate in it effectively;
* Coordinate and facilitate discussions within the organization and highlight the most important organizational feedback points to the Working Groups.
We’d like Strategy Liaisons to commit to the role from March to December, 2019. In some weeks, such as during the community conversations in March-April as well as August-September, Liaisons will ideally be able to commit approximately 5-8 hours per week to monitor global conversations and facilitate organizational discussions. Outside of the active periods, you would ideally be able to commit 1-2 hours per week to stay up to date and engage with important questions or issues related to your organization.
If this has sparked your interest, you can
