Hi again,
Sorry for the many emails but I prefer to keep discussions separated and
not get confused.
A friend of mine is working on a project focusing on youth in rural areas
in Tunisia, where they will give several trainings for the participants on
digital tools in order to work on the online content about their cities. He
invited me to join and give a training about Wikipedia, and now we're
thinking of having another trainer with us.
Would anyone be interested in joining? First training will be around
January in Douar Hicher. I am working on collecting some references to use
for the articles, and this will be also done for the other cities as well.
Thanks,

Bonjour,

Hi all
Wikimedia Sverige has a small grants application open for people in the Global South who are interested in events and other projects with GLAMS. Please do pass this on to people you think would be interested or suitable for a grant. The projects need to be completed by February 29, 2020.
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/FindingGLAMs/Minor_grants
FindingGLAMs can fund events that improve the quality and quantity of data related to galleries, libraries, archives and museums (GLAMs) and other cultural institutions on Wikidata and other Wikimedia projects. This could include, for example, events to train librarians to add information to Wikidata, research events with historical societies to find lists of cultural institutions in your country, transcription projects for Wikisource etc. The focus of the project is making more material available on the Wikimedia platforms rather than creating new material (such as by purchasing scanning equipment and digitizing books).
Funds can not be used to cover the event participants’ time or lost income from other work. Applications to cover trainers’ or organisers' time or lost income from other work have to be filed with and transferred through a local Wikimedia affiliate.
Best
John
Dear all,
I thank you for your answer. Just for reference, I invite you to see examples of Wikipedia biographies I created. https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beya_Zardi and https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moungi_G._Bawendi. The latter was the last biography I created before I retired from Wikipedia. I wonder why it has not been edited or assessed right now.
Yours Sincerely,
Houcemeddine Turki
Hi all,
I hope you are doing all well.
As I am part of other Wikimedia groups, I noticed that these groups started
selecting their representative for Wikimdia Summit.
What about ours? Aren't we eligible for this? (One of the groups I am in
was not eligible but then the issue was fixed) so thinking maybe it's the
same for us.
Thanks,

Chers amis,
Houcemeddine Turki (he/him)
