Call for proposals for WikiIndaba 2018 is open

Dear Users, I have the great honour to inform you that the Call for Proposals for WikiIndaba 2018 is now open. WikiIndaba 2018 is the 3rd conference of African Wikimedia movement and will give to participants the opportunity to share their Wikimedia-related experience and skills with a wide and active African Wikimedia audience. The conference will be held in Tunisia from 16 to 18 March 2018. If you want to participate to WikiIndaba and share your works and thoughts with African Wikimedians, feel free to submit your proposal in https://meta.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiIndaba_conference_2018/Submissions. The deadline for giving proposals will be January 15th, 2018. Dear Mr. or Ms., I thank you for your efforts. I ask you as a member of the Programme Committee of WikiIndaba 2018 if you allow me to open the call for submissions for this important conference. The call for submissions is already available in https://meta.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiIndaba_conference_2018/Submissions. If you still have any opinions on how to ameliorate the call, you can propose your adjustments and I will do them. If you think that the call is excellent, please answer this email and approve it. It is hidden at the end under "documentation" , I do not get it via "Registration & Participants" where I looked for it. Maybe that can be made easier? 3 more remarks: a) there is a deadline for scholarships until Mid-January but "Apply for a scholarship" leads nowhere b) What to do with the many questions at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wik i/WikiIndaba_conference_2018/Questions_for_application_form ? Copy the text into an email and answer there? Dear Mr. or Ms., I thank you for your answers. Absolutely, I have done all the required adjustments. But, I could not merge Part 3 and Part 4. The Call for submissions is now ready in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiIndaba_conference_2018/Submissions. The submission template is also ready in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:WikiIndaba_conference_2018/Submiss…. Please review both pages and adjust them if there is several deficiencies. If the call for submissions is excellent, there are two options. We can open it now and then invite people to apply for the WikiIndaba Scholarships. We can wait for the Scholarships form to be created and then open the call for submissions and the Scholarships form in the same time. Concerning merging some ideas to the Call for Submissions

Dear Mr. or Ms., I thank you for your efforts. In the form I shared with you yesterday, this introduction was written: "The Wiki Indaba 2017 programme structure is designed to create focused opportunities for conference participants to actively engage with each other about Wikipedia on the continent. The program for the conference will be modelled after the theme "Building sustainable wikimedia communities for the benefit of Africa" and built along the following tracks; Critical issues and projects, Training and Discussions. The main goal of the 2nd Indaba Conference is to focus its intent on activating communities and formulating a continent strategy that includes: 1. Building capacity for African Wikimedians 2. Fostering growth within the African Continent 3. Connecting Africans both within the continent and in the diaspora In accordance with these goals and theme, the program will include paper presentations, panels, and a strategy session. Submissions will be reviewed and selected in advance by the programme committee. Please submit your ideas for a presentation below. NB:Deadline for submission is 31st December, 2016." I ask if you can merge some of the ideas evocated in this introduction into https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiIndaba_conference_2018/Submissions before I open the call for submissions.
