Hello. It has been a long time since Wikimania was held in Asia while Wikimedia Summit has always been held in Europe. Even if there are already regional and thematic conferences, not everyone has the opportunity to attend for many reasons including the cost of travel (one has to sacrifice 5 work days, for example, even with full scholarship), quota of attendees, reasons beyond one's control etc. Even if Wikimania 2023 will be held right in the hub of Southeast Asia and relatively a closer venue, not everyone can afford to attend.
