epl should not be used until it's officially ready; the wmflabs version is not production so it must not be relied upon. Just use etherpad.wikimedia.org which has less bugs and problems as of now. As early as this Sunday, a merge may happen. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45312
