- Strong agree. You don't go to the airport to receive someone unless they
tell you their flight number, do you? ;P Without the flight number, you can be waiting at the wrong gate, or even the wrong terminal! Contrary to what Lodewijk sees, I think it is necessary to ask for the flight number and doing so doesn't give the false impression that the reception team will proactively help solve immigration and customs problems.

in advance what you'd do if there's a terrorist attack.

- I didn't create that form.
- We are control freaks :)
- I think the reason behind asking for the flight number is we can track
cancelled or delayed flights should we know about them. I agree that this is second priority, but I don't see that it hurts anyone...

Maybe for a next time: if you are collecting only info for statistics, it might be more helpful to ask as little information are you really want. If it is only for volunteer representation planning, then arrival time&date would have been sufficient, and the flight number wasn't necessary. By asking more information, you gave the impression that if anything would go wrong, you would proactively help. I understand of course this is nearly impossible, but well :)

It's totally legit (it's supposed to go out from our OTRS address..).
The sole purpose is to collect statistics on when people are arriving into Israel, so we can plan our volunteer representation at the arrival hall at Ben Gurion airport.
It's not meant to solve specific problems people might have with clearing border control (or customs or anything like that).
And it's totally optional, not mandatory.

Hi,
I received an email asking me to enter my registration code and travel information into a google spreadsheet page... is this email legit? Just want to be sure, sorry for my paranoia :)
Is this mandatory? For which purposes will it be used (e.g. specifically helping attendees who have problems with entry to Israel at the airport?)
Thanks, Tobias
Ps.: Please don't see this as an malicious inquiry, I'm just curious what this is about.
