Hello everyone,
Is there any traditional/ethnic costume party or that kind of gathering
that is being planned already or people might be interested to join for? It
would be fun to showcase the diversity of the Wikimedia community?
To add some fun Wikimedian A can write/print the name of their costume
(preferably English Wikipedia entry) about the costume they would come
wearing, and find a buddy (B) who speaks a different language than theirs.
B can then create an entry on Wikipedia/Wikidata or expand the entry if
already existing, or even record how it is pronounced.
People can also gift their buddies small keepsakes.
This is still an idea_in_brewing_state. Would love to hear more thoughts.

Hi all,
We need your help! :)
We are developing a recommendation system that can help newcomers (or
more experienced editors who are interested) receive recommendations
about what sections to add to an already existing article in
Wikipedia.
As part of this research, we need labels from editors on whether a
section recommended for an article on English Wikipedia is a good
section or not. (The research is not limited to enwiki, this step of
the test is.)
You can come with your laptop to the Hackathon room (Salon 7) at 17:00
(break time) to chat about this research and do the labeling in
person, or you can just do it on your own using the following link
(The link will take you to our test and labeling environment, set up
quickly to collect some labels. Please know that once you click on the
link, a cookie will be set in your browser that will help us count how
many different contributors we had):

As always, questions and comments are welcome, ideally in person, now
that we are all in one place. :)
Best,
Leila

(Frist of all I realize that this probably not interesting for most of
you, but before it's too late I'd like to share an opportunity)
So, Commons has a program called "Equipment Exchange" and a month ago I
placed a camera there for donation that I intended to give to someone at
Wikimania to avoid shipping and taxes costs. Since is a page who don't get
lots of clicks I thought I would link it here.
The page is:

Thank you!
