Another 400 free Credo Reference accounts have been made available for Wikipedians, kindly donated by the company and arranged by Erik Möller of the Wikimedia Foundation. We've drawn up some eligibility criteria to direct the accounts to content contributors, and after that it's first come, first served. The list will open on Wednesday, March 23 at 22:00 UTC, and will remain open for seven days. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:CREDO
Feel free to add your name even if you're lower on the list than the 400th, in case people ahead of you aren't eligible.
Good luck!
:S I've only been active in the last... 9 months, I'm now starting article writing but I'd like to get a Credo account. Would that be possible?

:D I've only been active in the last two months with no content work, just anti-vandalism. :S No Credobear for me. :P Shame, because I can't seem to find any sources for the articles I want to write.

The problem is that wherever we draw the line, people will wish we'd drawn it elsewhere. It's possible there won't be 400 people wanting accounts, so perhaps I should add another list to the sign-up page "not eligible, but would like one for the following reasons," in case there are accounts left.

That sounds like a great idea, but I think it will be quite popular: someone MfDed the meta-page, and the discussion was closed with keep. Nevertheless, there may still be accounts left, which means I may get my Credobear after all. :P

I have on the talk page there made some suggestions about the criteria, especially the one year requirement. My experience as a librarian is that we can rely on turnover for limiting the numbers--normally only 20% or so of the people who sign up for a resource actually use it, and all we need do is remove the ones who do not.
