He has not at all headed the advice or warnings of anybody and continues to not even attempt to accommodate other users. He has yet to answer and follow-up on /a single/ question or plea on his talk page about his behavior. The closest he has come has been a response to Tarquin about the the KROQ articles. But most of the time he just blanks his talk page or says "OK", "fine" or "whatever" and then continues to do the /same/ things he was asked not to do. Now he just replied to another suggestion;
:Yeah, yeah, yeah. ''WHAT'' ''FUCKING'' ''EVER!'' - Michael
I'm fed-up with watching other contributions get worn-down by this unrepentant, unreformable, anti-social behavior. Everything this user "contributes" has to be checked for accuracy and a good deal of it is just plain wrong. Worse, after he is informed that it is wrong he has /reinserted/ the same "information".
I have seen no improvement since Jimbo's warning and I think it is now to kick Michael off the island (in fact, his response to Jimbo's message was to blank his talk page). He does edit each day with a different IP but we have learned with 142.177 that simply reverting everything he posts soon after posting it (SoftSecurity) should do the job (an IP block would be nearly useless here since he edits in the 64.175.xxx.xxx range)

I could fix up the IP blocking code to include an expiry date fairly quickly, would that help? You would have to block a few times but it would probably scare him off.
Regards,
Erik

I think having an expiry date on IP blocking code would be a good idea generally, because it helps to alleviate the possibility that some dynamic ips are broken for long periods of time.
I've made no decision about Michael yet, although a ban does seem to be in order. I hadn't heard anything about him since I gave him a warning, and I hadn't been paying attention. So I'll need to review his contributions and possibly try to talk to him again. :-(

He came in last night under an IP address and immediately began deleting Talk pages which had to be rolled back. He then created a NEW User Id as Weezer, and tried doing the same thing. I've begun to automatically rollback anything he inputs, because 9 times out 10 it's either Talk page vandalism or it's wrong. Zoe Jimmy Wales jwales@bomis.com wrote:Erik Moeller wrote:

Personally, I think Weezer is a copycat rather than andother incarnation Michael. But either way he seems out to cause trouble - perhaps more so than Michael who, most of the time, just seems to be careless and uncommunicative.
That said, I am certainly not against a ban for both of them. It is going to take a long time to repair the damage done by inaccurate edits to the music section. And without an attempt by Michael to listen to feedback and change his editing the damage is just going to get worse and worse..

I'm almost certain they're the same person - the first time Weezer signed his name on a talk page it was using an IP number that Michael had used to sign his name about three minutes earlier. (By the way, Michael has blanked talk pages as well - it's not just carelessness, there's a good degree of wanton vandalism as well.)
I still don't think a ban (in the sense of blocking his username and IP numbers) will work - he uses too many IP numbers for it to be practical, and if we block them all for a day or two, as Erik suggested, I'm pretty sure he'll just return at the end of that time (and in the meantime we'll have kept out a whole ISP-worth of legit contributors). If we block his username, his contributions will be harder to follow because they'll be spread over a variety of different IP numbers (he sometimes edits from IP numbers now, but not all the time by any means).
If we want to be practical about this and make Michael either go away or improve his work, then the best approach at this stage, I think, is to revert all his edits on sight.
