This is a mailing list not an article. You are borderlining trolling and I suggest you stop
Labeling people "trolls" is something I wish people would stop doing, here and on Wikipedia. It doesn't add anything productive to any discussion.

I'm currently investigating a theory, that as an online discussion grows longer, the probability of someone being called a troll approaches one.
I am warning you all that this is a moderated mailing list.

I am warning you all that personally and as a list mod, this line of discussion is not going to end well. It's not a good idea to make threats in public - especially threats you can't enforce. Please either discuss the original topic, or don't say anything at all.

Oh really? How is the follwing a constructive comment? Since when is demanding civility does not end well? Do I really need to have "list mod powerz" to request civility?

*Please* do not use straw man arguments, or at least, please disguise them better -- The statement that Johnleemk is referring to is:
"I am warning you all that this is a moderated mailing list."
Which is manifestly not 'demanding civility', and is also manifestly not:
"If you don't understand the importance of getting details right, should you be editing Wikipedia?"
Also, it never does good to 'demand' civility -- practice it, and hope people follow your example.
Sincerely, Silas Snider
